  • Standard Terminal

Standard Terminals should be used for on-campus events or areas that can provide a hardwired ethernet connection and power. These terminals require a direct connection to ethernet and power to operate. These terminals only work when connected to the university ethernet. You must provide the account number of the event or the department hosting the event for the transactions to process.

  • Mobile Terminal

Mobile Terminals should be used for off-campus events or areas on-campus that cannot provide a hardwired connection for Standard Terminals. These terminals use cellular data for processing transactions. These terminals are susceptible to latency/ slowed transaction processing depending on the environment and usage of cellular data at the event area. You must provide the account number of the event or the department hosting the event for the transactions to process.

  • Virtual Terminal

Virtual Terminals are laptops or desktops used to process credit cards on a website or using installed software. Virtual Terminals provided by the University are laptops that require manual entry of credit card information. The Virtual Terminals do not support swipe, tap, or chip reading of credit cards. Please reference the Cardholder Data Collection & Processing Procedures article for allowed payment collection websites and methods before requesting a Virtual Terminal.
